Meet Idong Ekandem - Owner and Founder of ID Ventures LLC
Meet Idong Ekandem: Wife. Mother. Community Helper and Advocate. Entrepreneur.
As a business owner and nonprofit professional with more than 24 years of experience, Idong is looking to add value to her clients’ businesses and nonprofits.
Prior to nonprofit management, Idong worked for several institutions in the Aviation, Human Resources, Telecommunications, and Commercial Real Estate industries. Her first job right out of high school (in 1988) was as an office receptionist. Since then, she has worked in various roles in administration, management and finance. As a small business owner for more than 12 years, Idong has become quite familiar with the joys and challenges of managing a business.
Idong is also the owner of ID Ventures, a company that exists to support nonprofits and small businesses in their journey towards growth. ID Ventures was birthed out of Idong’s desire to strengthen young businesses while continuing to serve her community in the nonprofit space. She also wanted an entrepreneurial opportunity that would allow her to incorporate her finance background, strong management skills, and passion for helping others. To quote her: “One of my greatest joys is watching people thrive and overcome barriers to success.”
An alumna of Georgia State University, Idong graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Finance.
Idong and her husband have the privilege of working together at the nonprofit organization they co-founded. When the opportunity to rest presents itself, Idong seizes the moment by doing the things she loves – creative writing, listening to music and spending quality with her family. She enjoys cooking, watching movies, and playing games with her family. Idong describes her husband and three sons as her pride and joy.
